One of Myanmar’s most exceptional pastel-on-paper artists, Aye Nyein Myint’s subject matter is deceptively simple still life compositions, executed with modernist perspective and light/shadow composition. Other works by Aye Nyein take the conventional still life into very contemporary formats.
Charcoal on paper work, by one of Myanmar’s most well-known and versatile artists, Nay Myo Say, is exceptional in capturing the movement of traditional Myanmar dancers with economical and elegant line. He has been called ‘An Artist of Motion’ by Ma Thanegi, a Myanmar art/culture writer.
Exquisite lyrical line and subtle color inform the watercolors of artists
Hein Thit and Aung Myat Htay.
